Well I was wrong with my forecast for an early start to the season. Winter has returned with a vengeance so we must be patient and wait a bit longer for that first taste of fresh syrup. We did start tapping on the weekend when the weather was milder and the sap was running a bit on Sunday morning when the sun came out for a few minutes. It looks like mid-March before we can expect real sap weather.
