After a cold and snowy weekend springlike weather has finally arrived. Last night we had 6 degrees of frost and it will warm up to plus 6 this afternoon, then cool down again with frost tonight. That’s ideal weather for sap production and we expect one final burst before the season wraps up. Double digit temperatures are expected this weekend and the maples buds will begin to open. The sap may still run but syrup made from this sap will have an unpleasant flavour. We call it buddy syrup.
The camp will be open all week and on the weekend for syrup pickup.
